Sliding Scale Fee

Sliding scale Fee is a flexible fee structure that is created to make counseling more affordable for people with a limited income. When able, I offer a reduced session fees* for those who qualify.

*Fee is based on the client’s income and number of dependents financially responsible.

Note: Client will received Good Faith Estimate for expected cost for counseling services at start of treatment.

Out-of-Network Health Insurance Plans

Some insurance plans include out of network (OON) benefits.

Please refer to your specific insurance plan for more information about OON benefits.

Note: Full session fee is due at time of service. A “Superbill” can be requested to submit to your insurance company for any reimbursement of fees outlined by your policy.

I cannot guarantee your insurance company will reimburse you for paid fees for services rendered Reimbursement depends on individual insurance plan OON benefits.

Motor Vehicle Accident Services

If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) and are struggling with anxiety, flashbacks, dissociation, inability to focus, nightmares etc you may be able to use your auto insurance benefits to obtain counseling. Counseling provided for this event must focus on MVA, impact of MVA on mental health, and duration of counseling may be limited by auto insurance limits.

Referral is needed from medical provider or urgent care provider. Referrals can be faxed to 541-225-4787, Kathryn Smith Counseling LLC.

Out of Pocket / Cash Rate

My standard fee for the initial intake session is $337.50. My fee for subsequent sessions is $225.

Couples Counseling Additional Fee: I utilize the Gottman Relationship Check-up as an assessment for couples counseling. This is paid by the client to the Gottman Institute and fee is per couple.

Pro Bono

I provide Pro Bono sessions, when able, to expand access to mental health services within our community.
